Mission Statement |
- It is important to the Coastal Parishes in Louisiana to sustain a coastal ecosystem, which supports and protects the environment, the people against hurricane winds and tidal surges, the economy and the cultural heritage of its citizens.
- The protection of the coast line and wetlands from erosion and the general welfare of its constituents require that Parishes affected by wetlands losses unite in a partnership to preserve and restore the natural ecosystem threatened.
- P.A.C.E. was created to improve the existing dialogue between the Parishes, form local government strategies, build awareness to the citizens of the issues with the coastal marsh losses, and develop local actions.
- It is hoped P.A.C.E. can unite and organize the affected parishes to assist their efforts to raise the important issues of the loss of coastal marshes to Federal and State agencies, alert their citizens to the need to be informed and speak out on the issue, and assist in crafting innovative restoration alternatives.
- It is not the intention of P.A.C.E. that the Parishes cede any of their rights to the organization.
- All Parishes will continue to exercise their individual delegated authorities in a manner consistent with their individual citizens’ interest.
