On June 15, 2005, Parishes Against Coastal Erosion elected Plaquemines Parish President Benny Rousselle as the new President of PACE, replacing out-going PACE President, Aaron Broussard, President of Jefferson Parish.

'Presidents' Forum on Meeting Coastal Erosion Challenges'

A group of 12 invited P.A.C.E. members from across the coastal zone came together to discuss the stark realities facing Louisiana's citizens as a result of the current coastal land loss situation. The panel was entitled 'Confronting the Coastal Realities of Coastal Communities.'

Parishes Against Coastal Erosion Meeting
Hilton Towers Lafayette, LA
Representative Chris John spoke to the group of Parish Presidents and officials at a luinch meeting. Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco and Senator Mary Landrieu addressed the meeting as the final stop on a tour they hosted for key Congressional committee staffers and national conservation organization and local government association leaders. Four of the tour's participants represented the National Association of Counties, a group with which PACE members are very familiar.
